There are a growing number of UK private health insurers whose policies allow for the full or partial refund of acupuncture treatment fees.  If you do have a private health policy, it might be a good idea to check whether some or all of the costs of your treatments are covered. The following list of insurers was taken from the British Acupuncture Council website and was accurate in October 2015.

Companies listed are: Aviva Healthcare; Benenden Healthcare Society; Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund; BUPA; CS Healthcare; Engage Mutual Assurance; Exeter Family Friendly; General and Medical Healthcare; Healthshield; HSF; Medicash; National Friendly; Pru Health; Sovereign Health; Simply Health; Westfield; WHA; WHCA and WPA.

Also included are companies underwritten by other companies: Health-on-Line; Insurety; Saga and Secure Health.
